Birmingham based bass guitar and double bass player Steve Amadeo has been touring and recording since 1998 where he began an association with the folk group ‘WHY?’ playing festivals and gigs in the UK, Germany and Scandinavia.

After moving north he began working with world-class music directors, producers and session musicians playing gospel music at large-scale events and conferences.

Steve moved to Birmingham in the autumn of 2000 where he studied jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire. He soon began working with blues/rock guitarist Aynsley Lister and later that year began a long and continuing association with blues/roots singer/songwriter/guitarist Ian Parker, touring the UK and Europe and recording five albums and two live DVDs.

As well as full-band electric gigs with Ian, Steve currently plays double bass in Ian’s acoustic trio. Steve recently began working with ex- Air Studios and Paul McCartney producer/engineer Matt Butler on recording projects for various clients including singer ‘Freya’, singer/songwriter Simon LeFort and punk band ‘Covered With Punk’.

More recent projects include sessions for acoustic singer/songwriter ‘Sefton’, Worcester based singer Deb Hodgson, indie artist Marco Buscini and acoustic artist Paul Riley. Steve can also be heard on the up-coming album release by Birmingham band ‘The Musgraves’.
