| Selecting the proper voltage |
|
Your ZAM has been designed to operate with the voltage delivered by the battey fitted in your instrument, in 6V, 9V or 18V. You MUST select the proper voltage on the ZAM. Some active microphones or some pre-amps operating in 9 volts can also operate in 18 volts. Some 9 volt preamps may, with the agreement of the manufacturer, operate under 18 volts, with the added bonus of improved dynamics, particularly for bass guitars. You must imperatively submit this point to the manufacturer of your instrument or of the preamp, as operating under excessive voltage may in the long run damage the electronic parts, even though the preamp may seem to work properly. |
