A did precision tribute-P51
( modified in 9 volts ) I use the ZAM on all my bass : Jazz Bass ( 4 strings ), Precision ( 4 strings ), Fretless DID ( 5 strings ) DID Precision Tribute-P51 ( 5 strings). I have three ZAM packs and I use them on tour with Bernard Lavilliers. I made no changes on my bass for the ZAM, as they have been wired by Didier DUBOSCQ. The ZAM has changed the way I control my sound. I switch from passive to active according to the colour I seek, without feeling that, in active mode, I have a nuclear power station in my amplifier ! The bass blends perfectly in the mix, the sound is pure and crisp and most of all, I get the true bass sound. ( the same colour than in passive mode with the advantages of active mode). I have had all my bass modified, by adding a passive/active switch and by taking out some of the electronics to produce a sound closer to the acoustic instrument. To make a long story short, it is not longer the pre-amp which produces the bass sound, but the instrument and the fingers ! Thierry Fanfant |
