Tony BONFILS was born in Nice in 1948. He is a self taught musician who tried his hand at various instruments. In his early days, he plays with local Rythm and Blues and pop bands. He then meets André CECCARELLI who launches his professionnal career in the “Pyrannas“ and he subsequently tours Italy for four years. As he pursues his academic studies ( towards a bachelor in psychology) he also enters the Conservatoire in the class of André MARILLER where is a first prize winner for double bass in 1972. He plays with the Orchestre du Palais de la Mediterranée and leaves his native city and settles in Paris in 1973 to pursue his musical education. Harmony with Julien FALK, Orchestration with Ivan JULLIEN, double bass with Jean-François JENNY-CLARK and Philippe NOHARET. He has since been a high profile musician, playing with stars such as Gérard LENORMAN, Nicole CROISILLE, Diane DUFRESNE, Sacha DISTEL, Michel SARDOU, Yves MONTAND, Hervé VILARD, Yves DUTEIL, Julia MIGENES, Dany BRILLANT, Charles AZNAVOUR. On the jazz scene, he has played with Tania MARIA, the Big-Bands of Claude CAGNASSO and Ivan JULLIEN, Dee-Dee BRIDGEWATER, the Trio PLAY-BACH of Jacques LOUSSIER, the Trio T.L.B. TÉLÉVISION. As a studio musician, Tony also perfoms in the choir with the artists he supports on stage. He has dubbed many commercials and cartoons. Tony was a professor at the CIM from 1987 to 197. He is currently active in the Studio des Variétés and conducts many "master-classes“ in France and abroad. |
