Born in Montpellier in the Spring of 1956, SOLORAZAF aka Solo Razafindrakoto spends his childhood in Madagascar and becomes, at the age of 17, one the first studio musician of Tananarive. This experience allows him to develop his very own music style, based on the musical taditions of Madagascar.

In 1979, he moves to Paris, plays with numerous artists, on stage and in studio ( pop, African music, children songs ).

From 1986 onwards, he becomes the regular guitarist for Miriam MAKEBA. He follows her on all her world tours, the diva allowing him to play his compositions in her show. For ten years, he has been a regular feature on European and American venues with his solo guitar perfomances.

SOLOZARAF creates a totaly new musical universe, based on Madagascar and Indian Ocean rythms, with a dash of folk and jazzy harmonies.

Since 1998, he has been a member of the “World of guitar“ quartet, which brings together four guitarists, three of which are based in America, Fareed Haque, Aquiles Baez, Romero Lubambo. This combo has been showcased in festivals around the world.

Along with his career as an artist, SOLORAZAF has produced four milestone albums in the development of the music of Madagascar : Fruits du Voyages 1996 ( choc Monde de la Musique ), Souffles de Vie Rakoto Frah 1998, Tribute to Razilina by Eric Manana. He has also direcetd and co-produced the album Bilo Malgache Connexion ( choc Monde de la Musique ).
