Laurent Cokelaere has been a professionnal bass player since the late 70s. He has played with Neffesh Music and Yochk'o Seffer, with Polygruel, his own big band and with artists as diverse as Ivan Julien and 9+. Has has been accompanist for d'Alan Stivell, Buzy, Jean-Claude Vannier, Anna Prucnal, Century, Michel Fugain, Bill Deraime, Richard Clayderman, Véronique Rivière, Enzo Enzo, Kent, Jean-Jacques Milteau, Patrick Verbeke, Sheila, Michel Sardou, Frankie Jordan, Antoine, Yves Duteil, Coralie Clément, Keren Ann, Nolwenn Leroy.

Occasionnaly, he was comper for  Catherine Lara, le Grand Magic Circus, Philippe Lavil, Chance Orchestra, Gilbert Bécaud, Richard Gotainer, Charles Aznavour, Mighty Mo Rogers, Autour Du Blues, Maurane, Daniel Lavoie ...

Since 2006, he has been playing the bass in the band of the Victoire de la Musique. He now and then joins groups such as le grand Blues Band, Maison Klaus with Klaus Blasquiz, Coketale, with Jacques Mercier, the Desktops - a Tamla-Motown revival band - and Sidji Moon, which he co-directs with Hervé Mercier, a pop-jazz-ethno-urban group.
